As with so many beaches here, it is often just you and the sea, the sand, the sound of waves crashing, salt in the air and wind ruffling your hair.
This is Pretty Beach, and so much more than a just a pretty beach!
When we encounter someone walking back from where we are heading we often notice a radiance that comes from having found something special. Beaches do that to us, they offer and push us gently - as long as offer our time and open our eyes and ears.

Water and sand caress each other - and our feet if we let them.
Turn your back to the sea: the dry sand talks about the pattern of what was and can be.
Some rocks clearly allow themselves to become something new.
Waves crashing offer perspective - get closer or respect that force of nature?
Rocks tell of deep time.
Some rocks are completely at one with the sea and protect precious little things.
Touch with your hands and close your eyes - past, present and future will come before your eyes.
If you crouch down low you see vast landscapes before your eyes.
Allowing the sea to come and go, to wash over us, to point us to what is and was and will be is so much more than seeing and listening. It is true that the thunder of the sea can be deafening, the waves can seem to point out out that we are small, weak and insignificant. Yet the beach has a place for everything from tiny mollusks and the softest seaweed to ancient rocks.
